AN INTRODUCTION

THE START - OUR CONSULTATION
Once we have determined what requirements are necessary to make a saddle for a particular rider, which is determined by the measurements we have taken for both horse and rider during that Consultation, we can proceed to make that saddle.

But first, the following describes what those measurements mean, and what the result will be for that particular rider, when a saddle can address those individual physical anomalies - no two women are alike.

Although the diverse characteristics of female anatomy can be quite complex, the anatomy of the horse can be more complicated.  Other than the genetic diversities we expect from different breeds, what the horse had been asked to do prior to that consultation, may have developed a compensating frame.

So as odd as it might seem, when we design a saddle, it may not be what I see in the static frame (as a horse is standing in cross-ties), rather where that horse will hopefully be in six months in their aerobic frame (when the horse's correct muscles have developed, and compensating muscles have atrophied).

"Whatever it takes" – We believe that each horse has certain requirements, whether it is to build the correct musculature to compete successfully in a complex equine discipline, or perhaps to atrophy the compensating musculature first, before the correct musculature can be built.

Then there are the horses from diverse breeds that are being asked to do something that neither genetics or past training is making it difficult for them to achieve success.

This is not to say a track horse, can't become a effective Jumper, or a cart horse succeed in dressage, but when a horse is being asked to compete in a discipline they weren't bred for, they can use all the help they can get from a saddle that will allow them to move in their natural bio-mechanical frame.

In the following videos, you can see how we address the design of saddles for those diverse breeds
